This piece looks at how perception is linked to expectation. "Less than 50% of what we see is actually based on information entering our eyes. The remaining 50% plus is pieced together out of our expectations of what the world should look like. The eyes may be the visual organs, but it is the brain that sees."

This video was created by compiling different clips and moving them through a meticulous frame-by-frame process in order to simulate the handheld effect. Informed by the writings of anthropologist Carlos Castaneda, the S.M.O. series seeks to emulate the possibility of extraordinary but overlooked occurrences as if captured by a passing videographer .

Recorded by using 32 digital video cameras simultaneously, this short film plays a refined game with slices of time in the city of Rotterdam . The matter-of-fact presence of a policewoman on a horse in the historic centre, changes into a surrealist and heroic mo(nu)ment. Inspiration for this film comes from countless police surveillance cameras that register every citizen's movement from any angle.

Square Millimeter of Opportunity : Cars (02:00)

An hour of video footage was dissected into individual cars and reordered by color as an exercise in enhancing ordinary perception. About eighty cars are used in the spectrum. This video further documents the occasional lateral shift in awareness.

Space (01:00)

The quasi-present space has been reproduced from the existing half of the space. The perception is reconstructed into a new dimension; however, they are fundamentally correlated as another one duplicates the space. The digitally composed soundtrack was designed to coincide with the moving image.

This video clip aims to capture that feeling of being unaware whether you are still in a dream-like state or whether you have woken up. It looks at dream-logic and it's impact on our waking hours. Often the dream life can be seen as even more vibrant or affecting than waking life, as we let go of usual disbelief in the sleeping state.

The video clip shows four women demonstrating self-evident occupations such as being a mother, wife, nurse and wet-nurse. Each of their roles are depicted by them carrying out various functions such as washing clothes and ironing - mother, embellishing body - wife, breast feeding - wet-nurse and massaging - home help. It shows an ironic fate, which females live today.

In this sequence, multiple bird clips were overlaid with handheld footage. The framework for an altered state is fabricated by means of a technical editing process. This is a further investigation into disassembling and reassembling video.

Filmed at the Astoria (G-A-Y) in London on November 19th 2005 using a Canon IXUS 50 digital camera, which was originally meant to take a photograph. However, the camera was on the wrong setting and recorded a one second long accidental film instead! This film was edited using iMovies .
