December, Version 1 (06:30)

By Anita Delaney

IRL

By disrupting the usual genre of a chorus line display I wish to unsettle the viewer and question notions of what is being presented. Ideas of femininity, the male gaze and the body are also alluded to. The young dancing girls are supposed to be passive and pleasing yet they are somehow menacing and move with military precision and rhythm.

Firefighting (02:20)

By Scott James

ENG

IP

My movie aims to consider language - form and use - by attempting to unify the incongruous dimensions of a story; we both listen to and author a story experience that is at once being simultaneously retold by the protagonist and spontaneously created by the listener. The listener generates the images that give life and substance to the story being told.

SVN

Touching breasts is like mixinig yogurt with fingers accompanied by good music.

Struggle For Existence (01:58)

By Yu-Chen Wang

ENG

IP

By Linking Darwin's "The Truth of universal struggle for existence" with a Taiwanese children's game, the video represents a simplistic drawing exploring two individual's slaughter in the virtual battlefield. Here tanks, naval forces & fighter planes are drawn to shoot enemies. The continuing drawing aspect reflects on the ideology of boundary dividing, self-defending patriotism and bellicosity.

By Mladen Stropnik

SVN

In translation to art dedication. It was all made for aesthetics. Hahaha...

Ebb Away (02:16)

By Gautam Kansara

IP

Ebb Away is a two channel video installation that contains elements of an abbreviated and disjunctive rueful love story. Through brief moments of open-ended narrative the videos evoke a strained melancholy and an overall looming sense of loss. The piece conveys a sullen climate of personal insecurity, collective anxiety, and missed opportunities.

STILL ALIVES (02:34)

By Laurent PERNOT

FRA

IP

By linking the languages of animation and video composition, this musical video displays a series of old and more recent photographic images from various countries: Hungary , Germany , France , Russia , etc. The camera (here virtual) plunges into a luminous child's face and lets us cross over a sequence of portraits in morphing. Still Alives examines the transmission of life, memory and disappearance.
