TRANSREC (04:25)
By Patrick Doan
"TRANSREC" is a haunting look at the nature of transitional spaces, travel theory, and by extension, its relationship to the subconscious abstraction. While these spaces are tightly controlled, the mind itself knows no control in face of the rational direction. In this state, introspection jumps to the foreground and the mind runs unfettered to the boundaries imposed by individual experience and cognitive knowledge . |

"Video spread" (01:32)
By Jovan Mrvaljevic
SER
WP
In this piece there are no traces of narrative, which can be understood as a continuous story, or an unfolding of event in time and space. Here, time is not constant or horizontal, but wavering. It is a collection of individualised moments in a "time collage" which serve to make visible the emotionally disturbed inner worlds of strangers. |

By Theresa Mayer
IRL
WP
We are in 72dpi, a place where our lives are dominated by square pixels. In this world, giving birth to a square child or even feeling a raindrop on your skin can be extremely painful. Legend has it, that the only way to cross over to the real world would be through a magic rainbow... |

Pangaea (03:24)
By Nicholas Economos
USA
This work reflects a life-long interest in the way things work and the systems that seem to make sense of them. My practice arises from a reflection on physical forces, machines and corporeality and Bateson's notion of seeking the patter.

CARDIOID (03:18)
By Istvan Laszlo
IRL
WP
Cardioid is the digital recreation of a dream. The subject of this piece is losing our most important body part, symbolized by the heart. The body rises up from the darkness and slowly opens. The movements reflect pain. The chest splits open and the heart leaves the body. The heart disappears and the body falls back in to the darkness. |

Carnival (01:18)
By Kate McKeon
IRL
WP
This piece came together as a visualisation of sound. Erratic shapes, which are constantly changing form within a larger medium, represent the sounds. Pitches are represented by changing colours of a dominant hue whilst lighter colours represent purer underpinnings. Darker colours highlight sounds that are more texturally dense. It is as though you are allowed a closer glimpse at the activity within the mass. |

IP
The "Quasi-Objects" cycle, initiated in 2003 and still in progress, is composed of photographic and videographic materials generated with the assistance of 3D modelling, animation and rendering software. Cinematic n.04 (2005) is the third installation. It focuses on a practice of organic re-design that aims to stimulate thought and dialogue about the progressive relativisation of natural forms of life as a result of techno-biological evolution. |

The Fold (4:00)
By Kim Collmer
Germany
Shot with underwater animation techniques, "The Fold" explores water as a reflective surface. Reminiscent of the early days of nature films, this piece lets us float within an artificial underwater realm of cellular doubling and aquatic life generation. The effects of the underwater movement and images were enhanced through digital editing techniques. |
