Viva La Bam. the age of Citizen Media is here. Armed with our mobile devices everyone's a potential broadcaster, journalist, director, rock star, artist, and DJ. 'We' the people have the power, and this year the Darklight posse are going to make sure you know how to use it.
Darklight 2005 is calling all developers and innovators in digital production to attend its one day symposium, exhibition and workshop event at the Digital Exchange on Friday, October 28, 2005. This forum promises to give us the answers to the increasing litany of questions on our rights and abilities as the employers of this new found power.
To set matters straight Darklight will engage three internationally renowned key speakers, and host two panel discussions combining the collective knowledge of experts on creative common licensing, citizen journalism, podcasting, blogging, ad-hoc networks, alternative broadcasting technologies, and new markets for wireless content/culture. So if there is any area of this cultural milieu that you want to investigate, come along on October 28, meet the Darklight team and chat with the professionals.
Notes
Key Speakers include, Barry Vercoe ( Co-Founder of MIT Media Lab and MPEG Pioneer) - Perspective on where digital audio tech is going with Mp4 and beyond.
The Symposium is also host to Ireland 's first Darklight Pocket Festival , an exciting showcase of the finalist entries in the Nokia/Darklight mobile cinema competition supplying a moveable feast of digital film and animation to your mobile phone.
Screenings of 'The Best of Darklight' will be running throughout the day.
